As sometimes happens in life, the path one is following takes a turn. I found myself in San Antonio, Texas from February through June. It was a great experience, and I was able to spend a lot of time with my son and his wife, plus teach a sewing class.
I am back at home now and enjoying the much cooler weather of the Pacific NW! My coffee sleeves have continued to sell while I was away, and I am receiving orders for my eye pillows, too.
Thanks for continuing to follow my blog. I'll have more info in the coming weeks.
Happy Sewing & Knitting!

New Zipper
I've been working on some alterations in the past week. It always makes me feel good to extend the life of a garment by a simple repair.
Yesterday, I replaced a separating zipper in a lined coat. I like to keep the garment with the original design intact at the end of the project. I've learned over the years to write down measurements as I take something apart. It is also important to match horizontal seams and hems.
If you have some mending and alterations in the queue, I encourage you to tackle them!

Happy New Year!
I just wanted to write a quick post today.
I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas. My son and his wife were here from Texas. I am so thankful that both children and their spouses were able to celebrate Christmas with us.
I can now post what I had sewn back in September for my son. It was a 32" square, brown fur pillow. My son had wanted one for several years, and I finally found some high quality fake fur in Portland last summer. He was so excited when he opened this Christmas gift!
Today, my husband and I will spend some time working around the house and relaxing. We also plan to make some goals for 2013.
I wish you a very happy and prosperous 2013!
